Vince Cairncross - Bankstown Theatre Company.
Vince joined the Bankstown Theatre Company in 1981. His first show was in the ensemble of Brigadoon. When the company was painting their own sets for the first time for the musical Helly Dolly, Vince stepped up to say he'd help.
Since then Vince has painted and assisted in the building of sets for over 75 productions. His talents have been appreciated by patrons for over 30 years.
Members were amazed how he could paint a 34 x 18 foot cloth on the floor and get such perspective after crawling around on his hands and knees.
As well as his painting talents Vince loves being on stage. He has appeared in over 60 productions playing such roles as Alfred Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Mr MacAvee in Bye Bye Birdie, and Wal Monihan in Hotel Sorrento.
Being a true company member, if there was no role for him he would appear in the ensemble. Vince holds the record for appearing in more productions than any other member since it was formed in 1949.
