Tim Dennis
Tim has been a continuous member of Miranda Musical Theatre Company Inc (formerly Miranda Musical Society) since 1986. In that time, Tim has appeared on stage in more than 20 productions, including Les Misérables, Annie, Beauty & The Beast.
Beyond his outstanding performances on stage, Tim has directed numerous successful productions for Miranda, including Little Women, Snoopy, Wicked, The Addams Family, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Catch Me If You Can. His exceptional direction has consistently resulted in critically acclaimed performances and sold-out shows, showcasing his profound impact on the company.
When not directing or appearing on stage, Tim has applied his talents to designing the lights for many productions, including The Secret Garden, Cats, Beautful: The Carole King Musical and RENT.
His lighting designs have greatly enhanced the visual storytelling and overall atmosphere of these productions.
Also included in Tim’s creative bag of tricks is his ability to create props. Of note is the artwork used in the halls of Chiz University in Wicked or The Grimmerie used by Elphaba in Wicked, the jet pack for Uncle Fester in The Addams Family and an over-sized ink and glue bottles used in Catch Me If You Can.
When not involved with Miranda, Tim has directed many shows with the Guild Theatre at Rockdale, of which his late father was a founding member.
Tim (and his lovely wife, Sue) often welcome members into their home for small rehearsals or planning meetings. Their support of Miranda always continues beyond the rehearsal hall and performance space.
Tim's dedication to Miranda Musical Theatre Company extends beyond the creative realm. He has held various key positions on the Management Committee, including President, Vice-President, and Treasurer. In each role, Tim has demonstrated exemplary leadership and commitment, helping to steer the company towards continued success and growth.
Tim is the driving force behind Miranda Musical Theatre Company. He holds it dearly in his heart. Not only did he meet his wife, Sue, at Miranda, but he has also performed on stage and directed his daughters, creating cherished family memories. One of his most treasured experiences was sharing the stage with his late father, Ivan, who played a Senator while Tim played President Roosevelt in Annie.
Tim’s multifaceted contributions—spanning performance, direction, technical design, and organisational leadership—make him an invaluable member of our community. His passion, dedication, and talent have profoundly influenced Miranda Musical Theatre Company and inspired countless individuals within and beyond our organisation.
