Rod Drummond
* Rod Drummond has been a dedicated and consistently hard-working
member of Tweed Theatre Company Inc for over 20 years and has been a
committee member and Treasurer for most of that time providing concise
and accurate accounting.
In addition, Rod has become the undisputed goto person because of his approachable nature, organisational skills and willingness to do what-ever is necessary in the best interest of the company. He has steered the company through challenging times both
financially and operatively including the wicked times of the Covid 19 period
of lock-downs.
He has been recognised with a Gold Coast Theatre Alliance Distinguished
Service Award (Hero Award) for his consistent efforts and also Tweed’s
‘Lloyd Jones Encouragement Award’ on several occasions for his tireless
contribution to the company’s ongoing success.
Rod epitomises the “behind the scenes worker” who shuns the limelight and is always available for the making of sets and props. Concisely, he is incredibly resilient,
persevering and long suffering in what can be a very frustrating role.
Rod revels in liaising with the Tweed Shire Council and displays a good
rapport with other members of the Gold Coast / Northern N.S.W. Theatre
Community.
He is particularly passionate that Tweed Theatre Co fulfills its
obligations to foster shows to include youth participation and artistic
development. He is a valued member and Tweed Theatre Co believes Rod
Drummond meets the criteria for induction into the Association of
Community Theatre HALL OF FAME.
