James Worner

Awards 44With about 50 years contribution to the performing arts,  James started as a high school student and progressed to community theatre initially as a performer then moving into the creative and direction fields.

I doubt if there were many performers now and in recent times who have not been impacted in some way by his talent and skill. For decades he has brought stories to life, both on or off stage, as a performer, director and sounding board for countless shows.

  Worner James 300x374

James Worner’s passion for costumes is unmatched. His attention to detail and creativity has elevated the production values of all levels of shows, from schools, large scale community theatre and professional productions.

James is often the first call by directors for costume and hair design where his extensive stock is always prepared with exacting detail.

As a performer he has captivated audiences, Sydney wide, with his talent, charisma and dedication to truth in character. His range and versatility has made him a valued member to the community theatre community.

I have had the pleasure of both directing and been directed by James and can confirm that he is a great person to have in your cast and treats all the performers under his direction with skill and understanding.

More than anything, James Worner is a mentor and supporter. His advice and encouragement has shaped the careers of many actors, directors and creatives making him a pillar of community theatre in NSW.

My only regret in recommending James for this award is that his beloved mother, Gwen is not here to witness his elevation to the Community Theatre Hall of Fame.

This nomination is not just from me but has been seconded by Christopher Hamilton and the Innerwest Theatre Company.

James, we the thank you for your unwavering contribution, commitment to and love of the performing arts. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

I formally nominate James Worner to be admitted to the Community Theatre Hall of Fame. Please confirm this nomination by acclamation.
